These are my dreams from the first half of 2019. Whether it was due to stress from work or awkward sleep schedules, the frequency and strangeness of my dreams increased over the year.
March 2019
My dream involved a microbe that swore revenge upon me and then kept trying to evolve into something more dangerous so it could kill me. I managed to kill it by burning it in a fire.
It’s likely the dream was inspired by the game Spore.
June 2019
A short disjointed dream where I fought Thanos in Super Mario Odyssey. I didn’t actually fight Thanos much in the dream, and just fled from him using the ability to warp between checkpoints. The other part of the dream told me Wooloo from Pokémon Sword & Shield supposedly originate in Russia.
This was a really active night as I had three separate dreams.
The first dream involved me being in school with a Twitter friend. When school ended, Mom and Dad came to pick me up, but then the dream suddenly transformed into a bike ride though the forests of India and South East Asia.
The second dream was historical and was set in Europe, probably inspired by the Civilization games. Europe was divided into three factions, and Germany and Russia teamed up to conquer Italy. Then suddenly Genghis Khan showed up and ravaged the country.
The third dream was a short one. In it my dad was showing a cassette player (remember cassettes?) running on MacOS.
A short dream where Banjo & Kazooie where in a platformer in the style of the New Super Mario Bros series. It was an underground level, and they were running on gears.
This is one of my favourite dreams, and something that might potentially work as the setting of a video game itself.
The dream began with an ad for a new Apple fast charger, narrated by a robot voiced by Siri (something entirely plausible).
The dream then changes tone into a robot zombie invasion, and the I had to fight them off using guns named and modelled after graphics cards. The gun I had was the GTX 1050, the graphics card in my laptop that I had at the time, while there were enemy drones equipped with RTX 2060 guns.
The dream curiously ended with me waking up and posting to Twitter about it, within the dream.
This wraps my dreams from the first half of 2019. It only gets crazier from here on out. I’ll be posting the Part 2 very soon. See you all then.
